Been Awhile ~~~~
So here are some posts that went on the other blog that hasn't been posted here:

Monk - esk ~

This is what I like to call Glen from time to time.
When he sits at his little toddler table and asks for his coloring book and crayons nicely, I comply and bring them to him. He opens his coloring book to the desired page and then opens the bag holding the crayons (pencil case holding 8 very fat crayons).
He proceeds to place each crayon above his coloring book all facing the same direction and then gives me the bag to hold onto so that it's out of the way.
He uses a crayon (no where near in the lines, he's still scribbling where ever his little heart desires), after using the crayon he puts it back with the others in the exact same place. if it's too low compared to where the rest are sitting then he'll push it up slightly to be in line with the others. If the point is facing the opposite direction than the others, he Must turn it right side up. When he's done coloring he puts them all back in the case and puts it away all nice as you please.

Just a few minutes ago I observed him playing with his large leggo pieces. He's lining them up on his table and counting them out as he does so. He does very good with his counting, but then just stops and pushes one of the square leggo pieces BACK in line with the others. You see he's got this imaginary line that they must all fall on in order to be able to count them. But in doing so, he's lost count and starts over again.

Then again, he'll play with his trucks all over the floor and leaves them right in the line of walking so that you nearly slip and break your butt when you step on it. He'll pull off his sock and fling them across the room, pleased as punch when they land somewhere they are NOT supposed to land.
Not so 'Monk'-esk.

Go figure.

Can't Believe It!

I can't believe that I lose my job and then I never have any time to type in the blog.
Guess that's what I used to do at work all the time. Surf the net and blog.
Those days are done for. We still have Glen in day care and he's doing great. Still working that terrible Two bit for all it's worth, but other than that, he's pretty cool.

Connor is getting sooo big. He'll be out of the infant car seat soon enough and into the big boy car seat. He's getting more and more of his personality out into the open and making sure that we know when he's not happy about something or when he is.
He loves watching Glen and they have their moments of giggling like crazy at eachother. Glen is pretty good with him, but sometimes he just doesn't realize that Connor isn't out to get him. So when Connor puts his hand on Glen's little foam sofa, it doesn't mean Connor is gonna run off with it. Just that his hand in on the sofa. Glen ends up trying to pull the sofa away from Connors reach.
It was pretty funny one night when Connor was rolling around on the floor and Glen wanted to pass him but couldn't cuz he was nervous about Connor being on the floor and then when Connor started to roll directly to Glen with only an inch to spare, Poor Glen ran in the other direction and started to cry.

I've been getting Glen to come closer to Connor and letting him hug him and put things in Connor hands and such so he's getting Way better about it.
When we leave to bring Glen to day care, if it's a day when Mark is home and he's watching Connor instead of me bring Connor with us, Glen starts to get all worried and whimpers and starts to cry. He tries to come back up the stairs and whimpers for Connor. It's like he can't leave unless his brother comes with us and he can see him to make sure he's ok. It's sweet.

I have a feeling these two will be good friends and that i'm gonna have my hands full when they are both playing with eachother and plotting against Mommy.

Little Things ~

It's the little things that I love the most.
I dropped Glen off at day care yesterday, he was fine. Fine meaning he didn't freak out crying like his normal Mondays. So I left while another teacher was talking to him and he didn't notice I had actually left.

I went to pick him up and one of the college girl helpers called him over and he went to her. She told him to look over at the doorway, where I was standing and he did..
He smiled coyly, looked at the girl, looked back at me, Then Ran over to me with a huge smile, his arms stretched and I leaned down to pick him up over the baby gate to give him his hello hug.

Used to be his Dad (Mark) would pick him up in the afternoons, but now I am. Mark usually had no major response when he picked up Glen, I got a rave response.
Pleased me that he was excited to see me.
He immediately grabbed his Batman baseball cap and his cup and was ready to leave.

Hopefully today he's as happy to see me just as much as yesterday.

No More Work ~

So today is my first day of unemployment. So far I got half the kitchen cleaned up and re arranged.
This is gonna be interesting to see how I can manage to get things in order for the rest of the apartment. The kitchen was the least of my worries.

Connor wasn't that bad today, he's staying home with me now that i'm not working anymore. Can't afford to have both boys in day care. So we are keeping Glen in day care, since he's 2 and could use the interaction with other children and he is benefitting from it, we are seeing improvements in his speech. He's still Mr. Terrible Two Boy !

Mark was home today and not feeling well, so he helped me out where he could. Which was mainly keeping Connor occupied and feeding him. Worked out well.

In the mean time, my back is KILLING ME! better take some tylenol and get back to work in the kitchen, the floor isn't gonna mop itself!

Well Well ~

Well, the end of last week sure hit with a bang.
Found out I'm being Let go or Laid off. As they are saying it.
Least they are giving me a severance package that isn't the greatest, but
is fair.

It's fine, it's time for a change. I mean I've been here for 8 years and
I don't aspire to steal someone elses job or even relocate in order to
upgrade my position within the company. I'm content at the level that I am
or was.

We are gonna keep Glen in daycare and take Connor out. Connor is only 6
months old and although I know he enjoys watching the other kids, we can't
afford to have both in day care with me not working.
Glen on the other hand is 2 and benefiting from being there, so we want to
continue to bring him and keep him in the right direction of learning and
getting used to other children.

Connor can be a little handful with being an attention hog, but while I'm
at home I can re arrange the apartment and get some cleaning done.
I'll be able to get things together to offer up to Freecycle. We have some
baby clothes that we can't use anymore because Connor has grown out of it
and instead of trying to sell it. Just gonna post a message on my
freecycle group and see if anyone wants them for free, for their infant.

I LOVE FREECYCLE!! We have met some really nice people through them and
have gotten some really good items. Someone was moving and looking to get
rid of a small four drawer dresser. We responded to the post and was able
to get it. I just had to pick it up. It's a decent dresser and perfect
for the boys clothes. Thank goodness. Cuz we didn't exactly have the
funds to spend on a new dresser. http://www.freecycle.org

Freecycle rocks!
